Change demolished line style

How do I change demolished walls to show dotted in plan and elevation? I tried to change it in phasing but it doesn't seem to work.

Also..

How do I show the demolished elements in elevation as lines not as ghosted boxes?

I am new to phasing........

If your graphic overrides are set correctly (with demo shown as dashed) then you might have your view's phasing set incorrectly or the objects set to the incorrect phase or the phase filter is not set correctly. If the view is set to New Construction, your element needs to have Phase Created set as Existing and Phase Demolished set as New Construction. Then make sure the applied phase filter has demo set as Overriden.

I think that did it! What is the recommend way to show the elevations as the finished house with demo lines ( not ghosted box's)?

OOPS.. I think I was looking at it in 3d view BUT now I see the wall in my elevation and its not demolished????

I've never showed the demo in elevations. Typically we just have demo plans and that's it. Of course that was in Cadland, when doing demo elevations meant extra work :) But now, if we model existing we could show it. If it conveys valuable information I'd show it. Otherwise, if it clutters the drawing, I'd keep it out.

Now the problem is how do I not show it? Is there a way to turn demo off in elevation and only show new and existing?

Just change the view's phase filter in view properties.

I've done one job where I showed a demolition elevation, but that was because we're putting a new facade on a building and I had to show where the existing storefront doors, windows, as well as canopy above were coming out.

Change the Phase filter and don't mess with the linework tool. Make sure your elevation is set to New Costruction and your phase filter has Demo and Temporary set to "Not Displayed". Everything else in that phase filter needs to be set By Category so it shows normally.
