View Full Version : How do you get brick veneer to wrap at embedded curtain walls

I am working on a brick veneer office building with large store front / curtain wall windows. On the first floor the store fronts are set back 6" from the face of the brick veneer. The brick veneer is only 3-5/8" thick and is not wrapping were the store fronts / curtain walls are inserted / embedded on the masonry wall. When looking at the model in a 3D view you can see into the cavity of the wall at these locations. Is there any way to get the brick to wrap at these locations? When I get a chance I will post a image or a small Revit file.

Wrapping won't work with curtain walls. I guess what you can do is create a window family with just an opening (no other geometry, just the opening or a void) and the wall should wrap when this is inserted in the wall. Then place a curtainwall in this opening, which won't need to have the "automatically embed" option turned on.
Davids method is the one I use also. Because a curtainwall in Revit falls under the wall category, I believe it is not recognized as an opening/ insert, therefore the "wrapping at inserts" option does not work in this case. I might be wrong on the why, but this is how I justify it to myself.

How about using Edit Cut Profile ? Even though it's view specific, i hardly see the needs to show that anywhere else then in detail view.
