View Full Version : Unable to Plot graduated solid hatches in AutoCAD 2007
Anyone know why I can't get 2007 to plot graduated solid hatches? the same hatches plot fine in 2005, I have tried the help which suggested fill and fill style but neither solves the problem. Any help much appreciated!

Thanks.
unfortunately that hasn't helped, all other solid hatches on the same layer plot.

Could you please post an example drawing file that exhibits the behaviour you have described... we can then take a look at the issue / problem first-hand.
Have a good one, Mike
Here we are, the strange thing is the hatch plots fine with AutoCAD 2004 and 2005 and 2006 but simply ignores the hatch in 2007

Thanks, I will take a look later today...
Just in case, could you please also upload the Plot Style Table ( .CTB or .STB ) you are using on the DWG file testplot.dwg

It plotted out OK here, both on our 1050C and K/M Biz-hub. Printer driver problems, perhaps? What make/model printer?

I get the same results as Tim ie Plot is ok!
I am able to successfully Plot DWG file testplot.dwg ( using Aqualuce_Clear_Print.ctb ), "Graduated Solid Hatches" assigned to table-lamp, output without a problem.
Have a good one, Mike
we use an HP1050C and HP800 and use the same drivers for AutoCAD 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004.
Its only 2007 that gives this problem.
what did you mean by "Graduated Solid Hatches" assigned to table-lamp, Mike?

After exploding the block so I could get to the properties of the hatch, I noticed that you use True Colors 255,0,0 as color 1 and 255,255,255 as color 2. What happens if you change the colors to the standard Autocad palette, say Red as color 1 and 255 as the second? Would this be something to try?

what did you mean by "Graduated Solid Hatches" assigned to table-lamp, Mike?I simply took the term "Graduated Solid Hatches" from your original post.
I meant the Hatch Pattern assigned to table-lamp.

Windows drivers Mike, Tim, that might make a difference, but I don't want to be restricted to 8 or even 256 colours. What I don't understand is why all the other versions of AutoCAD plot the same drawing ok.
just plotted the dwg to an HP lazor printer and an HP 870 injet A3 printer and the hatch is ignored on all 4 printer/plotters. It cannot be the drivers as each device has its own driver.

The suggestion was only a troubleshooting technique. I am not saying that you should be limited; I am just looking for things that are unique so we can figure out why it does it on your machine, but not ours. That being said, did you try it?

Windows System Drivers OR AutoCAD .PC3 files set-up via Windows Drivers ?
Have you tried Plotting via a .PC3 set-up using a Heidi Driver ?
Try setting up a Plotter purely for AutoCAD 2007 ( people have reported issues / problems when sharing Plotter set-ups with different versions of AutoCAD, a search (http://forums.augi.com/search.php?) here in the forums will turn up such reports ).

Tim, I have just tried using a hatch that graduates from color 1 to color 21 and no luck, just a blank where the hatch should be.
Mike, AutoCAD PC3 files setup from a windows system driver, I'll see what I can do about setting up a plotter through AutoCAD rather than windows.
