I have a weird situation going on and was wondering if anyone could help. My window swings show up on all elevations except for the East Elevation of the building. I've checked the View Graphics and "Window>Swings" is checked, so the swings should show, but they don't. I've tried deleting the windows and putting in new ones and the swings still don't show. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Do all your elevations have the same view settings? For example, detail level, scale etc.? You might also want to post that window family up so people can look into it.

All of the elevations are set to the same scale and same detail level (I tried all three detail levels). The family is the standard casement family that comes with Revit...nothing custom about it at all.

Also, I cut a section through the building and from the interior you can see the swing lines!! But not from the exterior...once again, only on the East Elevation.

See image below.

are the swings (in the family) made of system lines?
system lines only appear if they are exactly parallel to the view.
if you want them to appear at any angle to the view they need to be model lines.

Check your elevation mark is orthagonal to the building.

You guys are awesome! I won't even ask how you found that out, but you were right. The elevation marker was ever so slightly off. I couldn't figure out how to align out and straighten it out, so I had to creat a new elevation marker, but at least that worked.

Thanks.

I like the call-out linework dc.109967

One this that bugs me on a sheet is horizontal and vertical annotation linework, like leaders from text. It can get lost in the drawing and makes reading the sheet something you have to concentrate on, rather then instinctively reading the information. I'll use anything that differentiates the drawing from the annotation.

I noticed on your attachment that the call-out linework is dotted. How do you achieve this?

This is a little off topic... but how did you get your slide bars to show up like they do ( I like the little BLUE sliders)

I think that's an Apple thing. But I believe I saw somewhere there was a program for Windows that mimicked what the Apple looks like. I think it was Mr. Spot that pointed it out once.

Hey there,
You can modify this linework by going to Settings>Object Styles>Callouts if I remember correctly. You can not only set the line weight, but you can modify the style I believe. I know that I modified the weight for the reasons you mentioned.
Good Luck

Hey guys,

Great discussion. As to the callout linework, I have to be honest: that was how it looked by default. I didn't change anything, but SCshell is correct on how you can change it.

As to the scrollbars, I am emulating the Mac OSX operating system look and feel on my pc. Below is a pic of my desktop. See attached.

Go here for more info on that if you're interested:
