Mullion Break in Panel

I have created a mullion with an embedded detail that I want to use in my curtain wall. The problem is that it is breaking the curtain wall panels apart (top). I want it to act more like the system mullion (bottom).

I would use the system mullion, but I want to use the mullion with my embedded detail.

Is there a setting that changes this condition???
