Parking schedule with square feet per parking space

I am trying to make a parking schedule that will report the number of square feet per parking space based on the gross square footage of a garage. Any suggestions on how to do this? I'm hitting a mental block here.

You could open your parking space family(s) and add a shared parameter "Area", set to the length*width parameters, and then have it available in the project shedule...

That is an interesting idea, but not quite what I'm after. I want to be able to calculate the square feet per parking stall ratio as compared to the gross square footage of the garage. In your example I wouldn't get the area of the drive aisles or wasted space in the calculation.

Then I would suggest you use the room boundary and create a room boundary for all of the various spaces. That way you could create a room schedule to describe the ratio of the parking spaces to the rest of teh garage (aisles, etc.) You could also use the area plan tools to create a gross building plan for the garage level and then use the Area Boundary tool to create Rentable Areas

Yeah, I know exactly what you want, we do this all the time, for parking. But I'm not sure how to get it work in Revit. What you really need is a way to get the count of spaces into a formula, and I only know how to report the count, not use it to generate another number. The closest we were able to get in Revit was to export the parking schedule to excel, and then in excel do the math to get the result that you really want, but at least know that you have the accurate parking count.

HTH, but it is far from an elegant solution.

I just found this post: http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=3185 A couple lines down from yours. Check it out. This is exactly what you need to get your parking count to work, as you want so that it can be added into a formula. I haven't gotten to the end of the post yet, so not quite sure how the story ends, but this looks real promising.
