This was driving me nuts. I created this chimney as an in-place wall family. The lower part is existing and the upper part is new extension. I changed the surface pattern and this is how it displays and prints. Both parts are of the same material.
I finally solved it by deleting and recreating the lower part and all shows well but I wanted to post it and see if anyone encountered any thing like that.
Frankly as much as I love revit, I think Hatch patterns suck (along with text). It is difficult and cumbersome and you have to upload one at a time, can't change the scale on the fly or select an area by picking a point (in filled region, or can you???)
