hey folks
i am trying to creat a repad on 26" Y lateral

repad is 1" think and majox radius is 2'-8.5" minor is 14"

i can not get how to make the repad 13" wide all the way around the hole.

Can you post a traditional 2D orthographic projection of what you are trying to do. I think I can provide the 3D method, but your dimensions on the posted file don't make sense to me.

i have attached the orignal 2D drawing i have. i need to make that object in to 3D .. but 26" so if u can just show me the steps the size doesn't matter.. 24 or 26 .. once i know the steps i can make any size i need

thank u for ur assistance

Is this part of a cylindrical sleeve with an oblique hole through it?

yes from how i understand your question..

the repad has to be made separatey so i can modify it in the future like increase its diameter, thickness

Perhaps......

1. extrude a rod for the pipe od.
2. extrude a rod for the pad od.
3. extrude a rod for the branch.

place the first 2 concentric.
position 3
subtract from 1 & 3 from 2.
slice to suit.

or am I being too simplistic? (probably)

i don't think you understand what i am looking for or i don't understand how taht would work

the od of the repad lets say is 52"OD nice round circle but that is wrapped on 26" od rod. how would i get taht if i do what you say ... is there a way to wrap a 1" thk by 52" od on to rod 26" od in diameter end view would sort of look like this (O

(bracket represent repad circle represents pipe)

in the fab shop they will take a 28" pipe cut an ellipse out which will then fit onto a 26" pipe thtis what i came up with so far if you were to take taht ellipse and flatten it out you will end with a 52" od circle

hope taht clarifies what i looking for

Okay, I think I understand.
AFAIK there is no simple way to do this in acad but I think I've seen something similar in these forums. I will see if I can find the earlier thread.

Are you referring to THIS thread ( or am I not understanding the issue / problem at hand, most likely )...

Rahul

it is .. reviewing file.. i will post comments soon.

well i think or repad solution as far i got it graphically is good enough.. in real life repad are either rolled out of flat plate or cut from larger diameter pipe. and that is what they will do in my drawing .. i moved all my connection far away so there will be no interference. i relocated all supports to give me extra breathing space.

thanks for the all the assistance but graphically i think this the best we got. any more work and it will be to complex of drawing just for visual representation.. at least this is much better than the original 2D file which represents the repad very incorrectly.
