groups and phases

i am working on a multi unit job and it has been all drawn as 1 phase. now the owner wants to phase the job and i have each unit as a group. i tried to apply a phase to the group, but there is no option.

How can I apply pahsing to a group? Do i have to have 2 instances of the same group (1 for now, and 1 for future)?

I proceeded with the 2 groups option. i have one group with the first phase, and an exact copy with the second phase. seems to work, but might be harder to handle in the future.

Anyone know another way to use groups across phases, or is this a limitation?

Groups in general are buggy, but it seems your solution is working just fine with them. A little worried about a complex model which "might be harder to handle in the future".

exactly.

In the future i how that groups become more reliable and easy to use. I think that once the design gets to a certain point, i will ungroup just to make it simple, but until then groups are really the only solution.
