It seems that the copy/moniotred walls from the structure model is showing in my architetctural model. Does anyone know how to either turn that off or is something not being doen correctly, either by me or the engineer? I've found how to turn off his annotation and what not, but when he copy/monitors my walls, they aren't "layered" so that i can turn them off...
thanks

When you copy/monitor, they become part of your file. So you have to turn off the wall category, which will turn of all walls in your project. Another reason I don't like C/M that much :) I prefer to leave the link and have total control over visibility.

what do you mean "leave the link"
- should i get the engineer to unlink/copy my walls...? or i guess i could just go into his model and delete my walls...

What I mean is that I don't use the copy/monitor and I just leave the linked project showing in my views. Basically I reply on visual checks more than anything. This way I don't add extra stuff in my project, which is what you do with C/M. As far as I know, you don't have unique control over objects in your project created with C/M.

The categories limitation is a real drag. I've just about given up on it and use worksets instead. Tried filters for a while, but there are limitations/bugs, and I don't integrate with other offices, so I use worksets for my own purposes (as a workaround to Revit's categories). It's sad - almost like going back to layers.

Switching your view to Structural will allow you to not display a structural wall

Great tip...forgot about that one. Make sure the copied walls are set to Structural.

I personnally love the copy monitor. I have to agree that it needs some improvements but just the ability to only have one set of grid and columns and all is an enormous time saver. I just replace the engineer column with mine and i'm ready to go.
