Good job! Accurender is one of those programs that makes 'good' renderings out of the box, but takes some tweaking to make 'great' renderings. It all depends on what you are trying to do. Are you quickly trying to give a client an idea of what the project looks like, or is the client paying you to do a super-photorealistc rendering? If its the first, easy. Build the model, use some default materials, pop in some stock accurender trees, leave almost all of the rendering settings alone, and render. If its the latter, you are going to have to spend some time creating new materials from digital images, tweak ALL of the rendering settings, changing enviroment, lighting, and sun settings, change radiostity settings, etc., edit the accurender stock plants to make them better, and a ton of other things.

So, yes, good job for a first rendering, and nice job on the model. Now, get into accurender and start exploring all of the different options!

I would compare rendering to an artist who paints. Very rarely does an artist use the paint color straight out of the tube. They are always mixing and combining and tweaking colors to get the balance they ae looking for. Rendering is the same way....don't use the palattes straight out of the box, mix 'em up and create your own palattes and materials!
