Stair Annotation-Up & Down

Is there an automatic way to get an Up or Down annotation to show when I draw an AEC Stair, like the path line and arrow?

I'm not all that experienced with stairs, but I'll add my thoughts on this anyhow, Could you possibly achieve this using display representations? have one display for stairs going up and one for stairs going down. Switching between them as required?

Thanks, but that does not address the text issue. I would like it to automatically show text saying UP. I can't figure out how to do that.
