On the project I am working on currently, there is a two story volume (pitched roof) and a one story volume (flat roof). There are some gable roofs on the flat roof. The problem that I have is that on the plan of the 2nd floor, the gables below are being cut (and confusing everyone involved). Is there a way to fix this?

can you just increase the height of the cut plane?

For roof plans i like to create a level above the roof and look down with unlimited depth. seems to work pretty good at this point. another option is to have you roof plan at a specific level, and increae the cut to well above your roof, and decrease the down to a spot that works for your roof.

I can't move the cut plane up any more; I lose the doors when I do. Is there a way to modify the plane in plan like the section plane can be modified (ie jogged or stepped)?

For clarification, the roof plan is fine, its the 2nd floor plan that is the problem.

Great, thanks a lot! I checked out the help on plan region, made one, and then adjusted the view depth.
