We have our text families set up with the "opaque" background so it masks anything under it. Is there a way to do this with the text inside of the section/elevation tags? My problem is that the sheet numbers for my current project are about 10 characters long. They would also need to mask the tag seeing as how I don't know of anyway to get the text to be located outside the box. Any ideas would be great.
Thanks in advance.

For the section head, just edit the family and move the label referencing the sheet number parameter any way you want it (section heads are annotation families). The Elevation tag is a built in system family and you cannot control the positioning of the Sheet Number label. Your alternative is to use the section tool to create elevations. They'll be classified as sections but you can always sort the Project Browser any way you want by using some additional parameters. If you use this method you'll have to drag the section line into the tag to make it look like an elevation tag.
