auto cad barely works properly on windows x64
it doesn't recongize certified graphic cards.. and is extremely laggy doesn't not take advantage of 64 bit processing or advanced memory .. still functions in 32 bit mode
i had to uninstall win x64 and revert back xp pro (which sucks casue pro doesn't read more taht 3-4 gb of memory, i believe someone can correct me).
so since vista is built on x64 platform. i see it having more than its fair share of troubles
ps i guess i have to mention i use ACAD civ3D 2007

No personal experience but just to add to what rjairath (sorry I don't know your name) has said there are these statements which are from a recent White Paper from Adesk.
4.4 Does AutoCAD 2007 support the Microsoft Vista operating system?
Autodesk has been working with Microsoft to monitor the progress of Windows Vista and
its application compatibility with AutoCAD. As we approach the release of Windows Vista,
Autodesk will be conducting further testing to determine AutoCAD 2007 compatibility with
Windows Vista.
4.5 Does AutoCAD 2007 support multiple CPU systems?
Yes, AutoCAD 2007 supports multiple CPU systems. The performance of AutoCAD
graphics and rendering systems will benefit from multiple CPU systems.
4.6 Does AutoCAD 2007 support 64-bit operating systems?
Not at this time. AutoCAD 2007 does not support 64-bit Windows. However, it does
support running on an Intel EM64T processor using Window XP. AutoCAD 2007 runs as
a 32-bit application on 64-bit processor in what Intel refers to as Legacy mode.

Yes, it will work with Vista. There may be issues if you have older mice, printers, etc. but AutoCAD 2007 should work for you with Vista. Also as mentioned, it's not a 64 bit program and will have issues working in the Vista 64 bit environment, but Vista also ships as a 32 bit version which will be fine with AutoCAD.
Also check this website for more Vista info: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/default.mspx
