Set layer not being saved

After switching to a particular layer and save my drawing, the layer switches to layer 0 everytime I re-open the drawing. Any suggestions to correct this would be appreciated.

Are you running any sort of LISP during start-up
and do you have it set to reload that LISP between drawings?

What happens if you run the "_U" command a few times after the drawing opens?
