Level Lines dissapearing

Has anyone heard of or experienced level lines being erased but no the level views. Also if you go into the properties of say a wall or a floor, you still have the choice to attach the base and the top to the levels before the level markers disappeared. What I can't find are the level datums or lines in any of the elevation or section views and I have checked my far clips and visibility, graphics settings. Not a big deal since this happened on a training project but I am curious if anybody had any insight.

could it be that the level line resides outside of the crop region of the view? or could they be hidden in that view?

Could you give more info on where they disappear?

Yes this is what happened and after extending the elevations by deselecting crop region and far clip. I was able to find them. then we had to right click on the elevation lines and select maximize 3d extents from the right click menu. Thank you for your response.
