View Full Version : I need some Group therapy...

I'm trying to clean up a large model as we move into CD's, and getting very frustrated with Group behavior. The project is a 200+ unit apartment building, 6 stories with an enclosed parking garage (the levels don't necessarily line up with floor levels, either).

I'm trying to schedule windows by level, for reasons we don't need to go into, and when they were placed, Revit got some on the wrong level with accordingly wrong head heights. These windows are now in groups, reapeated around the building. I edit one group, fix the window location information (level & Head height- the window itself doesn't move), and press finish group. That one instance of the group now schedules right, but the change DOESN'T propogate through to the other 19 instances. I can't for the life of me figure out why. I can delete the window (Finish Group), insert a new one with the correct information (edit group, add to group), adjust its location, etc., and it works, but I can't simply fix the one that's there. Can anyone explain to me how to get around this? It's going to take me a day to get through the schedule this way, whichever way I decide to fix it...

Thanks

Remove them from the group.

Kind of defeats the purpose of using groups, doesn't it?

Have you tried saving the group out, inserting in an empty project, ungrouping, making the edits and re-grouping, saving out and re-inserting in your job? Remember to select all group instances and change them to this newer version.

Interesting idea - Thanks, I hadn't even thought of that approach... a lot of steps, but definitely faster than any other option.

Thanks
