Deleting Imported Objects

Is there anyway to delete these things? I tried the "select all instances" and delete, they delete from the views but still they appear in the Imported Categories and Imported Objects list. They are no longer visible in any of the drawings but still they appear in the lists. I can delete the layers, one by one, but not the imported object entirely. How do I get rid of them entirely?

if you go into your object styles, the imported object tab, expand the catogories and select the sub-catogories one by one, you can delete them and they will also be removed from the VG.

also, if you imported the link in using "link instead of import", although you deleted the link in your views, you will need to go to file-->manage link, select the link and hit the remove button to "detach" the links that you have.
