Really Parametric Door Schedule Including Curtain Wall Doors
Since returning from AU, we have decided to post as many of the things that seemed to generate the most discussion and for which we got the most "how did you do that?" requests. This one was a joint effort between my colleague Tony, me and our QA Manager. The attached zip file contains an RVT file with the schedule, a couple of walls and a few doors to demonstrate the concept.
This is not a beginner tip and we are not advising that this is the best solution for your firm in your environment. Our PDF is not a tutorial but only has information to help you understand our goals and perhaps help you deconstruct what we did. It solved many of our QC issues as well as solving the potential field confusion possible with the Revit OOTB method. In the end was worth the effort for us. It may not be worth it for you and you may find manually editing dummy fields or living with OOTB methods works best.
The moderators can decide if this belongs in a different category - it really involves families, general setup and more.
