I'm looking for a way to quickly export text form AutoCAD drawings into Microsoft Word.

Can you define a few more parameters?
Do you wish to select text or have the routine grab it all?
Are you looking for Attributes as well?
How should the text be sorted? By x,y location, top to bottom
and left to right.
Do we need to check both model space and paper space?
How deep (inside blocks?, inside xrefs?) do you want to go?

If you want to export selected mtext, an easy way is to open the mtext editor, select the mtext object, highlight the desired text and copy it to the clipboard. Now you can paste it in any Windows program, for instance, Notepad or Word.

You can also select Word to be your text editor, so when you edit text, you should be able to save it to a file.

For attributes, the express tool attout will save attribute data as a text file

I use a lisp routine called OUT.lsp that will take text/dtext out to a text file of your naming and it gets the text starting at the top, one line per line. If you have gaps (like notes typically do) you need to add an x or something to hole the place.

I've attached it as a text file, just rename the ext to lsp... You know the drill.

Hmmm, seems like this file was originally an AutoDesk file named textout.lsp.

It's from 93, but still works in 2000, hope it works for you.
