Fields

Do you have examples of how you use fields in a plot stamp, title block, or blocks?

I am setting up CAD standards and would appreciate examples as I am just now learning about this fascinating functionality.

I am setting up CAD standards and would appreciate examples as I am just now learning about this fascinating functionality.i use them everywhere i can, especially since we use the Sheet Set Manager. in the SSM template, i have a text string of fields in the staple margin that act like my plot stamp, just in case someone doesn't use 'plot stamps' on their machines. they also don't need third party programs to function either. (i don't know how many files are linked to me because of the last reason!)

QUESTIONS:

Can AutoCAD 2007 Lite:

'See' these fields?
Interact/update the fields?
NOTE: Due to my current use of DIESEL strings in plot stamps, I apologize to all for its negative effects on AutoCAD Lite users, such as the big 'X' that shows in AutoCAD Lite, and the undesired side effect it may have had on global warming due to spontaneous 'temper flares'.

As far as my understanding of LT goes ....

1. Yes
2. Yes

What LT cannot do is create or modify the fields ..... we work with LT as well here in the office and the people that use it can still work with our DBs that have attributes and fields in them OK.

I may be wrong on that, but that's been our experience here ..... now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna scurry away to test that theory ....

Hey SabreMan,

Please do test this as I do not have immediate access to ACAD LT here.

If this works, I hope to include fields in my template file.
(Part of my contract assignment here is to setup a CAD Standard.)

P.S. Seeing the drum roll gave me food for thought: I could include a clip of my three finger roll playing on the banjo!

I'm actually going out on a surprise site trip right now, but i'll post back after lunch with my findings! Sorry for the wait, but duty calls!
