We have our support files mapped to a networked server. Several users have experienced long delays from the opening of the hatch window to the displaying of available hatches (2-3 minutes at times). Tried rebooting the servers to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

Hi
Are other dialog boxes within AutoCAD slow to open eg Page Setup, Plot, Options, etc ?
Have a good one, Mike

Could it be network file transfer speed?
Download FILEMON (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/utilities/filemon.mspx) and analyze AutoCAD's file activity from the moment you launch the ._BHATCH command until the dialog appears. This may help determine what is causing the delay.

While I agree this sounds like a network issue, there is another issue that could cause this.
Do you have any custom hatch patterns? Any new patterns? Are any of these hatch patterns brought over from a really old version of AutoCAD? I've seen this process slow dramatically when a hatch pattern wasn't able to be processed correctly by AutoCAD. If so, fixing/removing this pattern will typically speed things up dramatically.

How do you go and delete the custom hatches?
I had Eaglepoint running with Autocad 2006, when I upgraded to 2007 the hatches where migrated over. I want to get rid of them.
Please help.

If the custom hatch patterns are in individual files, simply remove them from the AutoCAD Search Path.
If the custom hatch patterns have been migrated into Acad.pat OR AcadIso.pat you will need to open the relevant one and remove the offending ( unwanted ) patterns.

(Typically \Program Files\[product]\UserDataCache\Support)
