i have two pitched roofs intersecting and used the join tool to merge. when i go to a section view however, the roofs do not look joined, they overlap eachother as if they were still separate. this causes roofs to show up inside the building. any ideas? how can i cut a roof?

I would suggest doing a quick run through the Revit tutorial on roofs. It sounds like what you're doing with two roofs can actually be done with one. The join geometry tool only 'glues' things together; it is not a boolean tool.

If you're still confused after looking at the tutorial files, post your file here and have us take a look at it...

thanks for the suggestion, i was able to create one roof from two roofs successfully, but i cant seem to join the third because it gets crazy looking when i finish the sketch. i'll keep trying.
