Cancelling measure tool in family editor

I was editing an in-place family, and used the measure tool to measure something between the family and part of my model geometry. Normally when I use the measure tool, I hit Escape to cancel the measure tool and get back to the Modify arrow. But I noticed while editing the family, the Escape key does nothing. It stays on the Measure tool until I actually click on Modify on the left side, or on some other tool. Anyone else ever notice this?

I just wanted to post back and state that I do not have the same behavior that you have. Hitting esc key in family editor closes out the function.
