It would be nice to import excel or comma delimited files using the table command. This would eliminate the problem of large excel tables not showing up completely. I know that this was fixed if your using WinXP & Office XP, but some of us won't be upgrading to it for a long time.

You can import Excel worksheets in AutoCAD 2005 as table objects. Copy the cells into clipboard. In AutoCAD from Edit menu select Paste Special and then in the list of objects select AutoCAD Object.
Is this what you are looking for?

Thats cool. I didn't realize it could do that. I would say that is half the wish. It would still be nice to import delimited text files.
Thanks.

But how about if you want to import an excel sheet and use the paste special command; you may lose the paste link functionality also; this is if you want to dynamically update your table as you update the excel file. Is there a way we could have both?

Yes there is. When you use the paste special command, use the paste link command it will link your file like a xref. The only problem I have is no one else in the office can open it. If they do it crops the excel sheet. Any thoughts on that problem would be nice.
