Floor Paint Striping

I am laying out several basketball courts for a rec center and am wondering on the best methodology for applying the paint stripes to the floor.

I've done them in the past as a 1/16" tall in-place family. Thin enough not to be noticable, but thick enough to appear above the floor. All the stripes were a single extrusion, that I used a DWG as a background for the sketch. Then the material was set to Stripe Paint, and I could change the color of the stripes by changing the Stripe Paint material settings.
