Spot Elevation problem

Hello all.

I am having an issue with spot elevations. I am wanting to place a spot elevation in each of my floor plans. I can do this an all levels and floors above the first floor, but when i go to place one on my basement floor plan, it only allows me to place it on the edge of the floor, where as on all other levels, I can place it free anywhere on the floor. Sure, the information is there, but I have furred out walls in my basement and the furred wall covers part of the spot elevation. I would much rather place it freely near the stairway. Any suggestions?

Ok, I am such a stud! I fixed the problem. Well, ok. Not really. I read about the fix on another thread. Somehow (not me, I didn't do it) the basement floor plan got switched to wireframe. I changed it to hidden line and all is good. Strange reaction though.
