looks good. I can barely tell its not the real thing.
Nice avatar too. Looks like an '06 JETTA. Or a GTI maybe. Kinda hard to tell from just the front end. I'm all about the v-dubs.

very nice,i don't see it need to be finished again....
the shadow is good, i wonder that AutoCAD can make the same shadow.
what color of the triangle bar? it seem chrome/stainless?

Thanks for the comments. I still need to work on a clear cover for the center logo. I would like to at least draw the dash of the car. I'll post the images if I do.

I received a Ferrari book for Christmas and decided to draw a steering wheel from a vintage Ferrari Grand Prix car. I used AutoCAD 2006 and 3D Studio Max to draw it. It's not finished but here it is anyway.

My friend told me that importing CAD file to 3DS Max can result in "broken" mesh, how do you handle it? Which version Max you used?

I've heard that also but I haven't had it happen. I'm using Ver. 8.

I'm working on a dash for the steering wheel. Here is a Speed gauge I drew for the dash. I'm also going to draw a few other gauges such as oil, water and a tach.

The speed numbers made from modelling or just mapping?
Is it ACAD for modelling and 3DS Max for render?
I can't wait you finish the dash.

The speed numbers are modeled while in 3D Studio Max. Everything else was modeled in AutoCAD. 3DS Max is awesome with some of its tools but I still like to use AutoCAD to model.

An update on the dash. I put the drawing on the back burner for a bit. The drawing is still in the works.
