Export to dwg

Hi, looking at converting to revit shortly, my research seems mostly positive. One thing I was not too sure about is when a revit file is exported in dwg format does it lose anything, I mean is it a proper dwg file. If anybody has any advice regarding swapping over to revit, please let me know.
