Properties window will not show any selections

We are useing ACAD 2002.
I recently switched computers and the problem I'm having is beginning to be a pain in the neck!
I have the properties window docked. When I select an object, nothing shows up in the window. I went to my old machine and everything worked as it should. I compared the user options on both machines and they are the same.
Has anyone got an idea as to why the properties will not display?

or you may just need to set PICKFIRST to 1.
