Ran across this today when creating a new area scheme. Is this by design??

If you have Design Options in the project, you get prompted for type of scheme when creating new schemes.

If you DON'T have Design Options, you can add new new schemes without prompts.

Nice catch Tony! I confirm the behavior and would say you need to file this with Support. I've always ended up setting design options (sometimes I use them as a temporary store when changes occur, just in case we decide to revert back to older versions and thus eliminate having to re-draw). So I never noticed this. To be honest, I don't see a purpose for that dialog in the first place as the name and description can be changed and don't seem to tie in to any setting/behavior. When you create different area plans and let Revit define the Area Boundary, it always defaults to the wall centerline, regardless of which one you use. Area Schemes seem to act just as placeholders.....you type a name and description and then it's up to you to draw the boundaries the way you want to.
