strange family behavior...text swap

we have one guy in our office that whenever he inserts a weld symbol it changes the text in the family to a different font. this doesnt happen to any of the other 6 users in the office. is there a default setting somewhere that is changing his font. he is using the same template as everyone else.

any help?

It's just the weld symbol. Are there any other issues with the font file in any of the other families? My initial thoughts are that he doesn't have the same version of the font installed on his station....

well i figured it out. if i open up the families the default font was blank for the labels. so i take it that his machine was grabbing the different font to use as a default on his computer. i changed the labels to have arial as thier font and blammo....its fixed.
