On my drawing I would like to show a existing door as a normal door swing, but in the new construction view I would like to show the same door as a sealed door, with no door swing. Does anybody know how to depict the same the door differently in the new construction from the existing view??????
Please Help!!!!

i dont know how to do it from phase to phase, but here is a work around that could work for you.
1. you need to use filters to create a view that only show the doors that you want to affect.
2. in your view that you want to have the door show sealed in, once again use the filters to turn off those doors
3. edit the door family to have different displays with detail levels (ie make the coarse level the swing and the medium no swing).
4. overlay the 2 views on the sheets. since one shows the doors, and the other doesn't they will overlay in the same spot and give you the desired result.
Not completely revit like, but will work to give you the right apperance.

I think your easiest option is to modify your door families and save a copy that you use just for existing conditions. In these families, put your plan symbolic representation for the door swing on a subcategory (ex: Door swing - Existing). Now show symbolic representation for a closed door and put it on another subcategory (ex: Closed Door - Existing). Use these doors for existing doors and use your original family for new doors. In plan views whose phase is Existing, turn off the Closed Door - Existing subcategory only, and your existing doors show as normal (with a door swing). In your New Construction views, turn off only the Door Swing - Existing subcategory. Now your existing doors show a closed door panel and no swing, while your new doors display as before with a swing.

aaaa that seems like a better solution and maybe easier to set up

msaroya,
I am curious as to what you are trying to achieve here? I have seen doors shown closed in 3D, but never doors shown closed when new. Any chance you could post some images when you are done?
Thanks,

He/she wants to show existing doors closed in New Construction views to differentiate from new doors (shown with regular swing).

I guess I am wondering why, as compared to the built in "existing screened, new black" approach? Is there some specific graphic reason (a client who refuses to accept prints with screening?), or just a "this is what my drawings have always looked like" reason. In the latter case, I would recommend trying the built in Revit approach at least once. Just to be sure the extra effort to make Revit look like something else is worth it. I would say the same thing to someone trying to get existing doors to have a straight line for a swing, and an arc for new.

I've heard of this approach....we don't typically use it. If a door isn't tagged, it's because it already exists. And there are demo plans to show what stays and what gets demod. We show existing walls to remain as solid filled black, so if door is within such a wall AND has no tag, then it's an existing door. If it has a tag, then we want to cut an opening and put in a new door. I guess it's a cultural thing :) But Revit makes it possible in different ways, it's a matter of understanding how things work and making them work for you.
I wouldn't go the screening way as reproductions of the drawings don't come out well. I can't even print shadows or I'll get griped at :( I wish Revit would do a screened halftone (with dots) or give us the option to do hatches at % densities, such as diagonal lines.
