section: floor/roof and monolithic stair not cleaning up .. Help!

Hi
i cant figure how to join roof and stair so that the section looks correct. They always show as seperate elements. Is there some way to clean up the join?

Try the linework tool. Change the adjacent stinger and roof lines to invisible, and then add back in a piece of detail line to re-show the base of the stringer that does not mate with the roof.

If you want it modeled, you could add a landing to the top of your stairs. Complete the monolithic stair sketch, using all the required risers. Then add two boundry lines at the end to define the landiing and then another riser between the two boundry ends. When you complete, you'll get a warning about too many risers, but the landing will be created. You'll still have to deal with a joint between the landing and roof, though.
