I'm having trouble with the 'join geometry' function; in most of my model, I used the sweep tool to create cast stone pilasters, then used 'join geometry' so that Revit would show the intersection between the pilaster and a sweep that's imbedded into the wall family. This works on most of my model, but there's a few walls where Revit won't let me select the pilaster sweep and the wall to join together. This occurs in a section where I went back later to alter the wall family. Does anyone know why Revit would have difficulties joining certain geometries? Thanks!

The most likely case is that they don't intersect. Are these at corners? If so it could be because of the wall join condition.

A column would be a better solution for creating a pilaster rather than a vertical sweep. columns were specifically designed to work with walls in just this way.
