Section Detail

I don’t know if it’s just me being stoopid (more that likely) or I’m missing something really obvious, but when using acad for Building Reg. applications we normally produce sections at 1/50 scale, if something is required in greater detail obviously we draw it in greater detail and scale.

In revit would I put the detail for the 1/50 section such as trusses sitting on the wallplate, stair to floor construction, floor to wall construction detail etc. straight onto my section by using detail components form the library and drafting. Or would I use a callout to show the whole section?

If that makes sense.

Detail the smallest section as you like. Then group the detail componets. Make your next higher detail view. Paste that group to the same place. Add the detail you need for that view. Group those detail items and the group as a new group. Make the next detail and paste that new group to the next higher detail level. Add more detail in as needed.Repeat as needed.

If you update any of the groups all 3 views are coordinated. The only drawbacks are: Lots of groups to name.

Now if Revit would automatically do this we would have a perfect solution fopr detail development.
