Hi, my architect always draws these stairs and Revit seems not to be able to generate them. The stair is monolithic and quite plain with one exception: there is an extra riser in the middle of the landing. Revit creates something like the attached picture. Is there a way around this? Thanks.

The stock monolithic stair type has it's tread height set to 0.

Edit the stair & set the tread height to something other than zero, and you'll get what you're looking for.

Thank you Andrew, but it did not work. The structural part of the stair still looks the same.
I had experimented anyway quite a lot before posting. Thanks anyway..

Not sure what you are looking for.....the 3D stair in your attached image? With the rounded areas at the landings?

I think what the problem is the wrong representation generated by Revit in the 3D view of the monolithic stairs if you look at the plan view his landing has corners but the 3D view of the same stairs generated a rounded corner and why is that so?

It actually looks very funny if you put a railing to it because the railing follows the corner then by looking at the 3d view the railing is floating because of the rounded corner.

It is actually not so funny because I have this problem each time and I don't have a acceptable workaround.. And when you think the stair I want is really uncomplicated..makes me sad.

Set the underside of the winder to be stepped not smooth.

Rhys,

You beat me to it! See attached for the dialog box setting to change:

Thank you guys, it is a good idea. I would have needed it smooth but this way at least two of the three sections I'll use will look OK. Thanks a lot.
