text / font problems

I need a help. I am trying to type the symbol "%" in an attribute dialog box, but when I close it that shows as a question mark "?". The text type in this case is HELVFULL, would that be the problem? This is a special project that we need to follow some cad standards, usually we don't use this font in our office, I have never had this problem before.

try to redefine the style to use a standard
non-true type font and see if the symbol
appears, if so that is the problem.
Perhaps those folks that want you to use that
font have redefined that font to include the
required symbols, and they should send it to you
to use.
