"Lock" underlay view?

when I select a view as underlay of the current view, I can select elements on this uderlay view and move / delete ... them
Is there an option to only use the underlay view as a reference / non editable?

Not at the moment, but it is on the wishlist.

A possible work-around would be to place the underlayed objects on an "non - editable" workset(s), but that may be more trouble than its worth.
