Is there an easy way to keep track of the square footage?

Create a room schedule perhaps?

Check out area plans - use the pick feature to select walls as boundaries. As you update the model, the areas will update with it (as long as you are moving walls, not deleting and adding them).

Thanks, I still am fighting old CAD habits. Embarrassing as it is. You remember create model look at ti in 2-d draw polyline list polyline. Sad isn't it?

Thanks, I am still learning, this is my pilot project. I know Revit is designed to coordinate all of the building information. I am determined to use it properly.

Nah, that's not sad.....it took me a couple of months to stop typing in AutoCAD keyboard shortcuts while using Revit....that's sad!

A couple of other ways to calc. area:

(although Area Plans are the "correct" Revit way)

1. Filled regions--check properties for area

2. Floors--check properties for area

cheers......

I have to check for zz and za in documents before I send them out. I also try to enter Revit shortcuts into Acad and forget to hit enter, fortunately I don't have to use Acad much.
