Performance and Filled Regions

I am working on some tags and such that include filled regions, so that a ceiling tag is actually readable on a gyp ceiling, for example. My concern is that in a large project, hundreds of tags with filled regions could cause performance issues. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am especially curious about really large and complex projects, like our million SF two tower multi-use condo with full interiors package, at well over 100M. Am I going to bring a project like that to its knees?

Also, assuming no one has any quantifiable info, I wonder what might be a good test that allows for a decent time delta. If I where to have 100 sheets open, and change the title block in some way, might the regen time on all those sheets provide a decent performance guage?
