I have a beam that has some MEP blockouts/holes.
What is the best way to cut a hole in this thing with out having to make a custom beam with the holes? It would be great if there was a tool similar to the one that will cut holes for shafts in slabs that would cut holes in beams also.
Thanks

No way apart from custom family I'm afraid. But this functionality is rumoured for the next relese.

Next release being 9.2 or 10?

The next release will be around spring 2007, which has been constant for a few years now. It will be Revit 10, but with a slight name change....

Thanks for the info Scott. I'll start the countdown!
I am curious will our office have to buy an upgrades to get to Revit 10 or will it be included in the subscription updates we get. I am still not sure how all that works. Does this apply to Structure and Systems as well (going from 3 to 4 recently and going from 1.something to 2).

Upgrades on all Revit products are part of your subscription. You wont have to buy the upgrades.
