Hidden parts

Hi everyone. Just a quick one. How do we show the hidden part of a foundation on the elevation view (the one bellow the surface). Thanks

Use the Show Hidden Lines tool. Find it on your toolbar just above the properties button.
From the Revit Help File

Click Tools menus, or on the Tools toolbar, click the icon.
Place the cursor on an element that is hiding another element, and click to select it. For example, select a filled region that is overlapping a wall.
Place the cursor on the element with lines to be shown, and click to select it. The lines of this element display in a hidden line style through the overlapping element. To change the hidden line style of the element, access the Object Styles command.
To reverse the effects of this command, click Tools menuRemove Hidden Lines, or on the Tools toolbar, click .Select the element that will hide the other element.
Select the other element to be hidden.

Thanks Dimitri, but it doesn't seem to work. When I click on my foundation walls, they don't turn into hidden lines.

And you're following the steps outlined in the help? First you need to select the tool, then the site itself, then the wall. If you don't check Multiple onthe options bar you need to reselect the site each time.

On second look it doesn't look like your site is actually hiding your walls. Try changing the depth of your poche base in your site settings and relocating your elevation line so it is actually cutting your topo surface. If your site is not being cut then it isn't hiding the lines for your foundation. If you wat it to stay the way it is shown they you can use the linework tool to change the linetype for the foundation walls.

Thank you Dimitri. The thing I didn't know was that I have to change the fill pattern to be solid fill - white instead of earth and leave it to be as deep as my foundation (at least) so that it shows. Thanks again.
