is it possible to have a curtain wall with a step in it? every time i do it i get an error about a miss shaped panel, which occurs when i try to make a grid at the edge of the step (i want the mullion at the step to run cont from top to bottom).
Image a window with a sill at 3' and a door as part of the system. I could create a grid for the door, overlapped with the window grid, but there must be some way of doing it.
Any ideas?
Justin

If the mullion is running from top to bottom, why not just make them 2 different panels? I think only system panels can take on irregular shapes.

Make your curtain wall low enough to include the step and remove the mullions, grids and panels from the stepped area.
See the image below.

i thought about doing this but it seemed like working backwards. created a grid then remove 90% of it. it was faster for me to just take out 1 grid and add another curtain wall in the same spot.
Thanks for the suggestion.

i'm pretty sure that you can modify the roof/floor lines of curtain walls. I'm not sure if it will produce the result your looking for though.

How about is you draw the wall first. Use split tool to split the wall. Then edit the profile of each wall so that they interlace just so. Then turn the upper stepped wall into a curtain panel. add the grids then mullions?
