Detailed Room Plans

This must be on some previous thread, but I can not find it.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice for creating a larger scale plan view of particular rooms. For example, I want to have a 1/2" = 1'-0" plan of the kitchen in a residence that actively connects to my overall plan. I tried making a copy with detailing of the entire plan and then cropping it in to what I wanted to see. This partially worked. I have some door and room tags still showing outside of the crop area and I don't know why.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

You are doing it right. The reason you see the extra door and room tags is that those objects are partially visible in the smaller view. Just delete them. It doesn't affect the overall view as annotations are view specific.

You could also use a callout. Just make sure it is the floor plan type not detail type for what you want.
