View Full Version : Mirror default and UI

Most of the time when I mirror something I draw an axis rather than select one. Can one change the default from pick to draw, is there a shortcut key or any way to make it stay on what was last selected?

If not, this is, in my opinion, just another way in which the Revit working environment and UI flexibility falls short.
- Like the rotate icon which has to be dragged to the base point, forcing one to scroll in and out on large objects. (Why can't you just select the basepoint with the first click or press say c if you want the centre?)
- Like being forced to use the design tabs rather than tool bars, thus mostly requiring two clicks rather than one in order to reach the button required
- Like not being able to remove unwanted buttons from the design tabs
- Like the project browser always returning to the left of the page when opening a new session even after being placed on the right
- Like not being able to enter a command before selecting the object
- Like having to scroll up to the "offset box" rather than entering a number and hitting enter or typing a shortcut

Oh well, there are a lot of excellent features as well. I guess I will just have to content that some basics are going to be slower and that I do not have any control over my working environment. Or perhaps someone can advise me on how I can actually do some of these things.

I'd really like to know if there is an option hidden somewhere for this, as it's doubling the work required to mirror certain rebars around my walls.

Well... there is a solution ... instead of Mirror and the Draw a line, why don't you Draw a line and the Mirror select the line.

Or maybe use reference planes... since they can extend to multiple views.

Because that's adding even more extra clicks into it, thereby slowing down production even more.
