Peter,
Make sure that you have a modeling pattern assigned to the ramp material.
If that doesn't solve it, then I cant help at the moment. :)

Doesn't look like that can be done. I don't use ramps too often, but use floor slabs with slope arrows. For most of my "ramps" this is actually a more fitting category as they are site related and sitting on fill or supported by walls. A sloping floor slab will show plan materials just fine.

There is a material assigned and it shows in SD views in 3D but in plan in HL and SD it shows a plain finish and doesn't take on the surface pattern in SD, does this suggest ramps are a toposurface of some kind?
Peter you cannot do surface patterns or composites in ramps. If it is a straight ramp - tilt a slab. If it is a curved ramp then you will have paint it on.

Thanks guys, will use a floor with a slope arrow. My first experience of producing ramps can go down the pan then...
