Howdy y'all.

In the past, when I wanted to edit or override the text part of a dimension I could simple double-click on it and an MTEXT window would open for the text. It seems I've lost that ability. What could it be? I can edit MTEXT and DTEXT this way as normal.

You are using 2007, right?

In your CUI, check and see what the double click action is for dimensions. I think it defaults to Properties, but you can change it to DDEDIT

I've been leery of messing with the newer CUI layout.

I have the same problem, however when I check the CUI to verify the double click action, it is assigned to DDEDIT. Is there possibly a system variable that mistakenly got changed? Typing DDEDIT allows me to edit the text, and I can change the text using the content field in the properties window, but this is too cumbersome. HELP!

Strike that. I've figured it out. It seems my Noun/Verb selection got turned off thus causing the problem. A quick check in the box and the problem was fixed.

Please help me fix ddedit command trouble, when after text edit with double click, text object remain open for read (or wright) and after the next attempt to edit the text nothing happens, any editing of this text not possible.

Have you changed from a two monitor setup to a one monitor setup?
If so, the "do you want to save changes ..." box could be open off-screen.
