surface patterns on pads

is there any way turn off surface patterns that have been applied to pads via the paint tool? there's a check box under visibility for floors, but pads themselves are a subcomponent of the site visibility, so there aren't options for them...

I'm hoping i've missed something obvious here..

I think the only option you have is to turn off the pads themselves. Depending on how thick your pads are that may not have a great deal of impact on the appearance of the view ie the hole or raised grade and associated edge lines that the pad creates will still be visible

Thanks for your input. i was afraid of that, and that's how I've handled it, although it doesn't seem like a particularly appropriate (or revit-like) solution, since I'll now have to draft in edges for pads that occur at different levels.. or create superfluous worksets for various pads.
